Our babies turn 4!

Okay, so these 2 turned 4 way back on October 1st!

We originally planned to have their first very own "friend" party...but our brother-in-law's funeral was the day after their birthday.  Needless to say, we were all not really in the mood to celebrate, in addition to being overwhelmed with trying to grieve and help my sister-in-law and her kids.  So we decided to forgo the "friend" party for another year. :) We kept our kids close and celebrated these two as a family instead! :)

Abby and Claire have always been fascinated by animals...so for their birthday I took them to the Barnyard and Thanksgiving Point.  It was perfect!  Gorgeous weather and fun to see their faces every time we visit there.  They are just all smiles the whole time.  I also love how they say "YEE HAW!" on the pony ride. :)

After the animals we hit the ice cream shop where we randomly ran into Grandpa Lighten.   In the weeks following we ran into him a couple more times...Costco mainly. :)  Kind of funny how that happens now and then. :)

That evening we played in the backyard together.  Swings...

Football...

And LOTS of jumping and party games on the tramp.

Then came candles, cake, and ice cream. :)  The girls LOVED this part...they thought it was so hilarious!

And what was their present???

Big girls need bikes - just plain and simple.

They haven't ridden them much since, but they will. ;)

Top 5 things I love about these girls that have changed my life.

1.  Constant giggles in surround sound.
2.  Hearing them say they are each other's best friend.
3.  Abby's frown - honestly it is the PERFECT frowny face.
4.  Claire's booty shake - she is probably too good at this.
5.  Checking on them before I go to bed and see just a ball of hair and 4 little legs angled every which way on their queen-sized bed.

I adore these little girls.  They are both so similar but definately have their differences.  Abby is very much Morgan's personality and Claire is Jake's.  They melt our hearts, and we could not be more grateful to have them in our family.  They truly changed our family forever.  Love you babies.
