Quick Trip to Warmer Temperatures
Anyone who knows me well, knows that I struggle in the winter time. I am not a home-body, but I also REALLY don't like being cold. Two facts that are in constant combat in these long Utah winters.
I try hard to ignore my cabin fever, but sometimes you just need to see that sun a little bit. Am I right?!
Even though I thought I was, perhaps I wasn't doing a great job hiding my emotions. ;) Probably in response, my perceptive husband decided we needed to take a little trip to St. George. Even if it was just for the weekend. :) Even if the forecast said rain. At least it wasn't snow. And it was going to snow here at home. Big time.
Thanks to a super-generous work friend of Trev's we even had a free home to stay in. Nestled just outside of St. George and Zion's National Park. Talk about just what the doctor ordered.
We didn't do a whole lot, just hung out. Played games, XBox, watched movies, flew kites, rode scooters, etc. We did however do few fun things.
1. Trip into St. George for lunch at Cafe Rio, visit to the St. George Temple where my grandparents were married, and Jumping Jacks Bounce Arena.
2. Ate donuts for breakfast and attended church in the local ward - great Spirit there, attempted to check the seeing the Grand Canyon off the bucket list, and a drive through Zion's National Park in the rain.
We didn't want to leave when the time came. Lucky for us, the winter storm raging at home encouraged us to stay another quiet night. :) Which we gladly did, finishing our trip with a little Downton Abby. Poor Lady Cybil. :(
Oh St. George, how lovely and needed you were. Thank you for being warm, yet somewhat close. I need your comfort to get me through these winters.
We will be back. :)

Life according to my Samsung S3
One of my favorite (and most utilized) gifts from Christmas was my new phone - the Samsung S3.
It has changed my life. Honestly. :)
One of my favorite things about it is the camera. I have always wanted to have a good point-and-click camera for those moments when I don't have my big fancy camera or simply don't want to lug it around.
When I first got my phone I thought, "FINALLY I can get some pictures on a point-and-click that I will be happy with."
Well, what I didn't know is that even cameras on our phones take a little time to learn the in's-and-out's of. Dang it.
At first, I was bugged by the photos. Then I decided to play with my camera a bit and see if I could make them better with a little good old fashion know-how. I have to say, they still are not my favorite pictures but I think they are getting better.
Either way, they portray our lives. The pictures aren't perfect. But neither are our lives. They do however give a nice glimpse into the everyday, random happenings. They are normal pictures documenting normal life.
Works for me. :) I will still keep trying to get them better though. ;)
So without further adue, here is our lives lately, according to my camera phone.
